Best podcast hosting provider? Libsyn by a mile

Libsyn are the best podcast host for our audio, by miles. Here’s why.

First: Unlimited bandwidth hosting for your files for almost no money. I pay $10 US a month for the ability to upload up to 250mb audio files each month and serve them an umlimited number of times to an unlimited sized audience. Everything older than 1 month is archived and continues to serve from the original URLs. Think what you can do as a business podcaster / audio producer with that.

Second: Stable, reliable service. Grown-up, sensible interface – and it’s the choice of pros.

Third: If and when there’s a problem, like tonight, you can always reach support. Either immediately via their meebo widget or via email. They never don’t get back to you. Tonight’s problem (the failure of all / any of my files to play – and that’s several hundred audio files for clients) was fixed while we chatted via Meebo.

You want a podcast hosting service that comes with a 100% recommendation, take my word for it – Libsyn.

Even from the UK? What’s that like £5? Guess it’s more nowadays…

  2. Sam Deeks says:

Hi Adam – yeah, not sure the exchange rate. But the basic sub is $5 pm – that’s 100mb space & unlimited bandwidth

What I like best is the professional support – very good at responding if/when anything goes wrong.

When you’ve got clients depending on the audio being served, you need that.

  3. Lex says:

I dunno. I’m looking for something new now. The new spike in rates is pretty extreme for those of us running a free podcast.

  4. Sam Deeks says:

Hey Lex thanks for the comment.

The price went from $5 to $6 a month for legacy users (100mb) and from $10 to $12 a month for 250Mb users…

It’s not exactly what I would call extreme, personally, but everyone’s view is different. Maybe it is too much for the market? Time will tell

Though their new user interface is horrible, and making me seriously look at changing providers.

  6. Sam Deeks says:

Uh – David, by ‘new’, do you mean the interface they’ve had since I signed up with them in 2006? Which hasn’t changed since?
