My questions to you all is – Is there world hunger?

Do we spend loads of our taxes on wars of terrorism which so far have never really been proved? Are loads of police and fire officers dying of cancer because the US government gave the OK on the air quality after 9/11 so Wall street could get back to business?

Are we a society obsessed with consumerism? What about building 7 – why does the government try to hide it under the carpet ?

The facts are and we only need to look around us the richer you are the more important you feel – those who like Tolle will understand this will feed into a huge ego ( who you believe you are on the surface).

We are now a a culture of consumerists are we any happier? Peter Joseph is arrogant and full of himself but he is still trying to deliver a important message. War is wrong, taking other peoples resources is wrong. I happily pay taxes so I can live in a clean and safe place but I do not want my tax to be spent on war which I am totally against.

We are never asked if we agree with where are money goes. If it is a choice between someone having a job, medical welfare or a nation going to war- guess what I would choose?

Occasionally the new movie (2011 update) seems a little far fetched – but, actually, the majority of its points seems very sound to me. The way that money is created out of thin air (true, please tell me otherwise), interest charged on it (true)… the fact we in the west are exploiting most of our fellow humans (true)..

please tell me what is wrong with these facts? We need to change the way we use and distributed resources – I think most would agree its not at all right that every 5 seconds a child dies due to hunger (or whatever the stat was)… but no one else has manage to propose an alternative system.

In the 1930′s big business started used freud’s theories to sell us what we wanted, not just what we needed.. and so started mass consumerism

Hi Mr. Sunje. Thanks for commenting. Everybody likes to say they’ve found the ‘truth’. I don’t think you can or should stop people pursuing their ‘new age’ projects… nothing needs to be stopped. If it’s good, it will continue. If it’s bad, it may continue until people realise they’re being led by the nose…

It was like a gigantic wawe.I got sucked into it to, but now I understand, and I want say that Im great fan of Tolle.Stillness Speaks is just what we need in our lifes.Im from croatia! Every where is the same thing with “Truth”. How to stop it now??

Thanks, I just finished to watch the movie a couple of hours ago and I was looking for different perspectives. You showed me a new one, a valuable one “put the blame on others” a comfortable justification for all our acts and omissions.

Thank you for your honest and insightful thoughts.

Yes, it would be easier if we had a ‘them’ to blame, but I agree that it is our choices and the broken world to blame for financial problems and more.

I also believe that movies and ‘infotainment’ are a scary replacement for the ability to read well, ask detailed questions, not be afraid to have a discussion about controversial topics and know how to have multiple credible sources to back up your information

There is hope that education and parents can teach future generations to be reflective, compassionate and wise versus just dumping in what to think.
